Nebraska American Legion Department Commander Elected
News Release
Lincoln (July 3, 2025) – Judy Walters of Ainsworth was elected and installed as the Commander of the Nebraska American Legion during the 107th Annual Convention held June 26 – 29, 2025, in Columbus.
Walters is eligible for The American Legion through her service in the US Navy. She has been a member of The American Legion and Post 79 for 45 years. Walters has served as Department Senior Vice-Commander, Area D Vice Commander, District 1 Commander, Post Commander, and Post Service Officer.
Judy resides in Ainsworth and has a son, Colin, a daughter, Eileen, and three grandchildren. Walters retired from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services after 28 years and then worked seven years as the Veterans Service Officer for Brown, Rock and Keya Paha Counties in Nebraska. She is a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Other officers serving for the 2025 – 2026 year are Department Senior Vice Commander Doug Frahm of Amelia, Area A Vice Commander Gary Davis of Pender, Area B Vice Commander Kelly Hanvey of Center, Area C Vice Commander Martin Neal of Hickman, and Area D Vice Commander Cliff Rininger of Rushville, National Executive Committee Jim Costello of Bellevue, Alternate National Executive Committee John-Henry Pearcy, District 1 Commander Jerry Fullerton, District 2 Commander Gerald Bouska, District 3 Commander Jeff Finken, District 4 Commander Kent Holmes, District 5 Commander Geoffery Florom, District 6 Commander Brian Rapp, District 7 Commander Virgil Blum, District 8 Commander James Carmona, District 9 Commander Amie Moores, District 10 Commander Chuck Tuttle, District 11 Commander Robert Eyer, District 12 Commander David Stander, District 13 Commander Kevin McKinney, and District 15 Commander Ronnie Hindmand.
